I hate my job

Not only did they make me do the graveyard shift last night.
The music player changed.
So at about 4 this morning it became non stop Christmas music.
I hate marketing conceptions.

Happy November! A time of cheer and slowly creeping anxiety.

Hah.

November = Christmas music! We can't market Thanksgiving so it doesn't exist!

I feel your pain ammi. I recently started assistant managing at a radioshack. This thursday we got our big "xmas" store kit. Including the 2 hour long loop of music for the store.

Shoot me Ryz.

I also got suspended from work now xD

What'd you do?

Instead of leaving a piece of meat under my checkstand to dry out, smell bad, blah blah blah.
I wrapped it in plastic, put a "product compromised" sticker on it, and stuck it in the service deli counter for them to grab it when they came in.

what happened was, they left it there, a customer decided to grab it.
And it managed to reach management where they then flipped out about it.

when all I did was what I was trained to do and tried to keep the front of the store from smelling bad and saving the nose of the next cashier that'd clock on after me.

(The event happened during my graveyard shift)

I'm just full of stories from work.
Sunday night I made the mistake of taking an extra half hour off a coworkers shift.
In that extra half hour I dealt with two horribly annoying customers.

The first one started with me asking him if he'd like to check out at my lane instead of using the self scan since he had half a cart full of groceries and I'm 5 million times more efficient then those things are.
He replied with "No thanks, you're just trying to save your job"
The conversation that followed was him telling me I'd be replaced by ai's and the whole store would be run computers and conveyor belts.
When I said I'd be dead before that happens, politely of course, he replied with saying I'd live to be 500 years old. With the way technology is going before I'd even get to die at that point I'd be forced, not even kidding, I'd FORCED to live as an ai computer chip in an android body for eternity.
All of his statements were based off of watching Spielberg movies.
The whole time I was trying to do my job and not belittle his thoughts as it would get me in trouble.


The second customer was an indian fellow who read a wrong sign and misread another one. It led to him eventually yelling at me for at least 5 minutes saying how incompetent I was and the store shouldn't ever be allowed to have a wrong sign up. (The misplaced sign said "50-75% off frozen foods, bottom shelf only"). It was obvious the sign was placed by someone that'd ripped it off before and recently placed it there as there was only one type of product there and over all made no sense at all. When I offered him a deal anyways he refused and continue'd to yell at me. Apparently he knew English better then me too and his interpretation of the actual price sign up was right and mine was wrong. But hey, I've only been speaking the language longer then him and working at the tore for over a year.
This one I eventually walked away from.

God bless grocery store and all the bastards that come in to try and scam you.
